Background of the Institute

Werabe University`s College of Technology and Digital Convergence is the Institute established in Werabe University to train students in different Computing and Engineering disciplines. The Institute has begun its activity in 2013 E.C with three programs, namely, Information Technology (established in 2011), Computer Science, and Information Systems departments which are established in 2013 E.C.

The institute has expanded its programs to 6 undergraduate programs, by opening new departments in 2014 E.C. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Water Supply and Environmental Engineering department and one postgraduate program; namely Computer Networks and Security has begun its activity by enrolling new students in both extension (22 students) and regular (7 students) programs in 2014 E.C.

Mission of the Institute

IoT impact is expected to continue for the future, and those who work in computing will have essential role in shaping the future of the world. Therefore, it is very important to educate students with various computers, engineering disciplines and prepare them to be capable and responsible professionals, and engineers.

Academic staff profile at institute

Institute of Technology has a total of 90 staffs, out of which 87 are academic staff and 3 administrative staff. The Institute has two PhD staff. It has 48 MSc holder academic staff that are capable of teaching in all its programs, 12 MSc candidates at this time and the rest are graduate assistant II and assistant lecturers. The institute has also 16 technical assistant staff.  The institute is aiming to have zero assistant lecturer staff in the next five years.
