In 2021, Werabe University (WRU) established the Department of Social Anthropology within the College of Social Science. It is one of the College of Social Science's six departments. In addition to offering fundamental knowledge necessary for a modern liberal education, the program seeks to give students a rich and engaging educational experience in a variety of subjects. In order to investigate, record, and analyze the cultures of Ethiopia's indigenous societies and to help address the nation's socioeconomic and political issues, anthropology is seen as a comprehensive field that is essential.
