Message from the Dean of the College of Humanities 

Welcome to the College of Humanities!

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Visitors, as the Dean of the College of Humanities, I am honored to welcome you to our vibrant academic community. Our college offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate programs, including English Language and Literature, Arabic Language and Communication, Siltie Language, Literature and Communication, Amharic Language and Literature, and Journalism and Communication. At a postgraduate level, we provide specialised programs in Public Relations and International Communications, and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

The College of Humanities serves as a key hub for capacity building in both foreign languages—such as Arabic and English—and local languages, which include Amharic and Siltigna. Our commitment extends beyond language instruction to include leadership in Journalism, Communication, and more.

Importantly, we recognise the critical role that the Arabic and English language industries play in Ethiopia’s ongoing internationalisation, the growing digital economy, and global engagement. Our programs are designed to equip students with the skills needed to thrive and lead in these expanding fields, contributing to national and regional development.
