About the Department

The Department of Tourism and Hotel Management at Werabe University is dedicated to producing competent, ethical, and innovative professionals in the fields of tourism development, hospitality management, and related service industries. The department was established to respond to the growing national and global demand for skilled manpower capable of managing and promoting sustainable tourism and hospitality services.

The department provides a dynamic learning environment that combines theoretical instruction with practical experience. Through coursework, field trips, industrial attachments, and research projects, students gain hands-on skills in travel operations, hotel management, customer service, event planning, and sustainable tourism practices.

Our curriculum is designed to meet both national and international standards, emphasizing professionalism, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. The department also will maintains strong collaborations with tourism bureaus, hotels, travel agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure that students are well-prepared for real-world challenges.

Graduates of the program will be equipped to work in a variety of roles, including hotel and resort management, travel and tour operations, destination management, event and conference coordination, and public tourism administration. They are also encouraged to start their own businesses and contribute to Ethiopia’s growing tourism sector.
