Werabe University is
one of the 4th generation
Ethiopian comprehensive universities established in 2016/17 based on
proclamation number 650/2001 of higher education institutions and regulation
number 358/2008 of the council ministers. Immediately after its establishment
and completion first phase construction of buildings, the university organized
itself in to four colleges and a total of 14 different departments, and made
itself ready to accommodate its first students placed by the ministry of
education.
As part these endeavors
of Werabe University, the Department of Marketing Management was opened in 2011
E.C with the objective of contributing trained manpower at the national level
in general and at regional level in particular.
The Department belongs
to the College of Business and Economics (CoBE) and is situated in the Main
campus at 2 kilometers away from Werabe town. The department started its
teaching learning services in 2017/18 with 51 students in the regular program.
Currently, the department is delivering the undergraduate services to 102
regular students. Besides teaching, the department also has been actively
involving in various research and community service activities. While keeping
determined to expand its undergraduate services in different modalities, the
department of Marketing Management takes quality utterly.
Department of Marketing
Management has diversified itself by adding more disciplines and upgrading its
teaching learning process gradually. The department, thus,
launched master’s program in 2013 E.C.
Master of Arts degree in marketing management was initiated to meet the
university’s mission of producing qualified and competent professionals who can
change traditional business practices and solve the existing marketing
challenges of economic environment.
