The Department of Midwifery, under the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Werabe University, was established in 2022 with the vision of improving maternal and neonatal health through education, research, and community service.

The department is dedicated to producing skilled, ethical, and compassionate midwifery professionals capable of addressing emerging and long-standing health challenges at local, national, and global levels.

Our curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, emphasizing clinical, community-based education, and research. Through collaborations with different health agencies, healthcare institutions, and community organizations, the department promotes evidence-based practice, innovation, and leadership in midwifery.

Vision

The department aims to produce skilled midwives who enhance health outcomes for mothers, newborns, families, groups, and communities by providing quality, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based midwifery care in Ethiopia and beyond by 2022 E.C.

Mission

To train competent, compassionate, respectful, and caring midwives who are capable of delivering comprehensive sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health services at both community and health facility levels, with a strong focus on health promotion and disease prevention.
