The Nursing department aspires to be center of excellence in offering modern education in all areas of nursing, conducting need driven and problem solving research and dissemination of knowledge in Nursing.

The department of nursing also aspires to be one of 20 preliminary and preferable Nursing departments under comprehensive universities in Ethiopia in 2022 E.C.
