It
is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Medical
Laboratory Science at the College of Medicine and Health
Sciences, Werabe University. Since its establishment in 2019, our
department has remained steadfast in its mission to educate and train
competent, ethical, and compassionate laboratory professionals who play a vital
role in advancing healthcare delivery. Through our harmonized and
practice-oriented curriculum, we provide our students with a strong foundation
in both theoretical knowledge and hands-on laboratory experience across key
disciplines such as clinical chemistry, hematology, microbiology,
parasitology, immunology, determinants of health, measurement of health and
disease, research and innovation, communication, and collaboration.
Since
its establishment, the department has successfully graduated 59
students, achieving an outstanding 96.7% national exit
examination pass rate. Currently, 119 students are
enrolled from the second to fourth year, thriving in an environment that
fosters professionalism, integrity, and service to humanity.
With a team of multidisciplinary and dedicated faculty, the
department continues to promote a culture of critical thinking, ethical
responsibility, and compassion in clinical practice, preparing
graduates to contribute meaningfully to quality healthcare delivery,
research innovation, and societal advancement.
Our
success is driven by a team of dedicated academic staff and strong
institutional support from the university’s leadership. Together, we
