ü An Academic calendar shall have
teaching-learning and Research and Community Services aspects.
ü In its regular program, the
University shall have a two-semester calendar of eighteen weeks (sixteen weeks
of classes and/or practical and two weeks of exam) each, running from September
to June. In continuing and distance education (CDE), there are two semesters,
eighteen weeks each the same with the regular program and a summer term of 8-12
weeks. The programs of Health Sciences may employ a system of annual rather
than semester course offerings.
ü An academic calendar may be prepared
for the non-regular programs such as summer, part time and distance programs
and other non-conventional and training programs on the approval by the Senate.
ü A separate academic calendar may be
prepared for health science students and others who might deserve a special
consideration by the registrar in consultation with the Vice President for
Academics, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Services and the
respective college/s, and should be approved by the Senate
ü The academic calendar for each year
of teaching-learning shall be prepared by the University Registrar in
consultation with the VPARTTCS and approved by the senate and should be
publicized.
ü The University Calendar, among other
things, shall provide admission, readmission and registration; adding and
dropping of courses/modules, examination periods, beginning and end of
semesters, inter-semester breaks, application of research and teaching material proposals, annual research
review, last date for reporting exam results to the registrar, date of
submission of annual research progress reports to the office of the research,
publication and ethical induction director, instructor evaluation weeks, the
regular meetings of the Senate, final thesis submissions and open defense
dates, etc.
ü The research, publication and ethical
induction director shall prepare respective time table for application of
research proposals, annual research review, and date of submission of annual
research progress reports etc. to the office of VPARTTCS and approved by the
senate and should be publicized.
ü Community Services and TT shall
prepare their respective calendar for the office activities and shall submit to
the office of VPARTTCS;
