ü General Provisions on Admissions to Undergraduate Programs
Ø Admissions to undergraduate programs
of any institution from preparatory schools shall be based on completion of the
preparatory program and obtaining the necessary pass marks in the Ethiopian
Higher Education Entrance Examination (EHEE).
Ø Admissions may also be granted to
students completing their secondary education in foreign countries on the basis
of equivalent academic achievements that shall be determined by the Ministry of
Education.
Ø Admissions to all undergraduate
continuing and distance education programs shall be processed through the
Academic units, in consultation with the University Registrar, according to
policies set for such admissions.
Ø Multiple enrollments in similar
programs (regular, CDE) of the University are prohibited. Anyone found enrolled or attempting
to be enrolled in multiple programs shall be disqualified from all/either of
the program/s based on the courses progress.
Ø The University in certain
circumstances may admit students jointly with other affiliated Universities or
institutes. Such admission may be processed at any time of the academic
calendar as deemed appropriate. Criteria for such special admissions to
individual programs shall be developed by DA and recommended by AUC and endorsed by the admission and
placement committee (APC).
Ø Without prejudice to other provisions
of this Article and this legislation and other applicable laws, every
institution shall admit: for undergraduate studies, technical and vocational
education and training graduates with pertinent qualifications and who satisfy
entrance qualifications assessment set
by the Ministry;
Ø List of admitted students shall be
sent to office of the registrar by head
of the department for CDE and summer program students.
Ø List of admitted students shall be
sent to office of the registrar by APC chairperson
for regular undergraduate program students.
