The team was warmly welcomed by
Werabe University President, Dr.-Ing. Towfik Jemal, who introduced them to the
University's background, achievements, ongoing activities, and research
initiatives.
During the visit, the University
presented products developed through its research activities, giving the team
an opportunity to learn about the practical outcomes of the University's
research and innovation efforts.
The visit also brought together
the Orbit Innovation Hub team and Werabe University leadership, including the
President, management members, and University Council, to discuss areas of
common interest and explore ways to put the MoU into action.
As part of the program, the team
toured several university facilities, including the WRU Data Center, Virtual
Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Lab, and STEM Center. They also visited Dijo
Medium Enterprise and the Enset Cluster in Shilimat Kebele, Alicho Wuriro
Woreda, where they observed community-based production activities.
The discussions also focused on
ways to strengthen student entrepreneurship, support university-based
incubation programs, expand digital skills training, and promote applied
research, particularly in digital health innovation.
The visit provided an opportunity
for both institutions to exchange ideas, identify areas of shared interest, and
explore practical ways to work together. It also marks a positive step toward
building a partnership that connects university research and knowledge with
industry experience.
Through this collaboration, Werabe University and Orbit Innovation Hub seek to create more opportunities for students and researchers, encourage innovation and entrepreneurship, and turn new ideas into solutions that contribute to community and national development.
